Short answer is Yes! I am asked this question daily in my store The Weather Store in Sandwich, MA. Here are two images taken just a day apart with vastly different weather and you can see the change.


Essentially it has to do with the cell structure of the branch. They are larger on one side than the other and when humidity and temperature change, they expand or contract to a different amount which results in the bend.
